Our material

All our products are free from BPA (Bisphenol A)

We have been in the business since 1956, and we value qualitative and long lasting products in order to offer our customers and consumers the best. Lately, there have been a lot of discussions about plastic materials and unhealthy substances such as Bisphenol A (also called BPA). Nordiska Plast AB does not produce any products that contain Bisphenol A and all our products that are supposed to be used together with food are of course food approved.

We use the following materials in our products:

PP – Polypropylene

The most commonly occurring plastic in household products. PP has a high surface gloss and hardness, which make it very useful. In thin sections it can be translucent. Withstands temperatures between -40 °C and +120 °C. Dishwasher-proof. There are also transparent variants (PP random), which have a slightly lower impact resistance in cold weather.

PELD – Polyethylene LD (Low density)

A soft, tough plastic, in its colourless state somewhat milky, and sometimes with a wax-like surface. Very high impact resistance even at low temperatures. One of the most chemical-resistant plastics and does not absorb odours. Floats in water. Withstands temperatures between -40 °C and +70 °C. Can be machine washed.

PEHD – Polyethylene HD (Low density)

A stiffer and harder plastic than LD polyethylene, in other respects very similar. However, it has a better surface gloss and can withstand higher temperatures, between -40 °C and +95 °C. Can be machine washed.

SAN – SAN plastic

Crystal clear and high impact plastic with excellent transparency. Strong, scratch-resistant and chemical-resistant. Withstands temperatures between -40 °C and +90 °C. Can be machine washed.

SB– Polystyrene impact-resistant

Tough, impact-resistant plastic with a somewhat matt surface. Not available as crystal clear. Withstands temperatures between -40 °C and +65 °C.

ABS – ABS plastic

Very impact-resistant and strong plastic with high-gloss surface. Combines the best characteristics of SAN plastic and polystyrene impact-resistant. Not available as crystal clear. Withstands temperatures between -40 °C and + 105 °C. Dishwasher-proof.

TPE – Thermoplastic Elastomer

TPE is a rubbery material that combines the characteristics of vulcanized rubber with the process benefits of thermoplastics. This gives a fantastic, flexible, effective and recyclable material. Perfect for seals on food storage boxes, for example. Withstands temperatures between -40 °C and +120 °C. Dishwasher-proof.
